VIMS™ Virtual Incident Management System
Working with the Department of Justice, and Los Angeles Metropolitan area Fire/Rescue, Law Enforcement and other civilian authorities, VIMS was created as a customized First Responder Training Module for virtual interactive training. VIMS represents a major advancement from our applications as a military training system. VIMS specifically addressed the training requirements of emergency professionals actively working in the field.
By simulating first responder incidents, PC-based Virtual Training helps trainees and seasoned professionals enhance judgment and decision-making skills. The VIMS First Responder module will help emergency personnel avoid conflict, recognize potential problems, find preemptive solutions, and greatly improve their effectiveness.
This PC-based application simulates live training exercises with photo-realistic terrain, user-definable mission scenarios, specialized response tools and tactics, and variable environmental conditions to enhance the collective training experience. The realistic scenarios help users develop cognitive competency in critical tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Focused on the First-Responder community, VIMS provides a multi-player common virtual environment for practice of crisis response and hazardous material incident response that has never before been available in an affordable simulation. The power and flexibility of our game engine technologies enables law enforcement, fire, and medical emergency personnel to achieve the same high-quality training that has been provided to our military customers worldwide. Terrains, models, scenarios, and missions were specifically focused on meeting the first responders’ training objectives to provide a multi-player rehearsal capability in an appropriate and realistically modeled operating environment.
The VIMS training system was delivered with the new comprehensive After Action Review (AAR) module, which provides time tagging, record, and playback features while collecting and collating a wide range of performance data. During operational testing, the AAR module dramatically improved training effectiveness by enhancing the instructor’s ability to analyze weaknesses and target follow-on training exercises.
